The Bioenergy Research Forum (BRF)
SUPERGEN Bioenergy has established a network of companies and research institutes active in bioenergy in the UK, known as the Bioenergy Research Forum (BRF).
The BRF provides a forum for all involved and interested in biomass and bioenergy to discuss, review and address the technical and non-technical issues that inhibit rapid and wide-spread implementation of bioenergy technologies, and to share information on successful technologies and projects.
The aims of the BRF are to:
- Improve links between industry and academia
- Bring together the bioenergy community to aid & encourage communication
- Provide a forum for the sharing of information
- Promote bioenergy
Each BRF event features presentations from relevant invited experts and is themed on a specific bioenergy topic, previous meetings having covered "What Should Biomass Producers Produce?", "Agricultural Wastes, Co-products and Residues as a Fuel for Combustion", "Biomass Combined Heat & Power (CHP)", "Liquid Biofuels", "Marine Biomass" and "Sustainability" . Site visits to relevant bioenergy facilities and plants are included where possible. Details of the BRF meetings and copies of presentations from the events can be found on the BRF Meetings page of this website.
Attendance at BRF events has steadily increased since its inception, with the majority of attendees being from industry and stakeholders. The BRF will continue to meet approximately every 6 - 8 months to review the topics which are most relevant to the bioenergy industry and to provide further focus for the research of SUPERGN Bioenergy.
