The Energy & Resources Research Institute (ERRI) at The University of Leeds is the largest academic research establishment in the UK focused on energy and resources research and development.  ERRI is a multidiscipline science and technology institute serving the entire life cycle of mineral and energy resources from the extraction of raw materials to energy supply, conversion and end use, and the recycling of waste products.  Throughout ERRI, the emphasis is on novel, highly innovative, industrially relevant, leading edge research.  This approach has resulted in ERRI being extremely successful in attracting substantial research grants from the UK Research Councils, European Union, government research organisations and industry.  Since 2000 almost ?14M has been awarded in research grants to ERRI and over 250 academic papers have been published.

The members of the Supergen team at ERRI include Prof. Jenny Jones (centre), and left to right Professors Mohamed Pourkashanian, Alan Williams, Paul Williams, Mrs Leilani Darvel, and Dr. Ma Lin (not in the photograph).  Together they have wide-ranging expertise in experimental measurements and modelling associated with biomass pyrolysis, combustion and gasification.
