Supporting Bioenergy Development: Routes to BECCS & Hydrogen Production

Background:

RCUK plans to invest £5Min a multi-disciplinary Supergen bioenergy hub to act as a focal point for UK bioenergy research. The hub will connect academia with industrial and policy stakeholders to focus on sustainable bioenergy development.

Prof. Patricia Thornley from Aston University has been appointed to lead the hub and is currently carrying out a consultation to establish the research priorities that the new hub will address and identify appropriate research partners and stakeholders.

If you would like to get involved in helping shape this exciting new opportunity you would be very welcome to attend this consultation event.

Aim of the event:

This workshop will focus on the research gaps relevant to industrial deployment of biomass with carbon capture and storage and integration of bioenergy with hydrogen infrastructure, as well as looking at facilitating international collaborations in bioenergy. Representatives from professional institutions and societies would be particularly welcome at this event.
