PhD StudentAbout
I am currently pursuing a PhD focused on renewable energy, with particular emphasis on waste-to-energy resource assessments, life cycle assessment (LCA) of biogas systems, and the modelling of hybrid power plants that integrate bioenergy with other renewable energy sources. My work aims to contribute to the development of sustainable, efficient, resilient, and economically viable renewable energy systems. My research interests include optimisation of energy system operation. I am equally passionate about teaching and delivering lectures. Prior to my doctoral studies, I completed an MSc in Sustainable Energy Systems at the University of Edinburgh as a Commonwealth Master’s Scholar. I also hold a Master’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Calcutta and St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata, respectively. Beyond my academic pursuits, I enjoy organising events and fostering community engagement. I currently serve as the President of the Engineering Graduate Society at the University of Edinburgh. Outside of academia, I am also a vocalist (solo) in Indian semi-classical music and have a strong interest in cultural engagement.
