Call for proposals in support of the final round of Supergen Bioenergy Hub flexible funding

Research proposals are invited to investigate the potential for the co-production of bioenergy and bioproducts from UK resources, with a total of £200,000 available to support two research projects that further the Supergen Bioenergy Hub aim of developing sustainable bioenergy systems.

Proposals are expected to align with at least one of the Hub’s six bioenergy system case studies, explored in more detail at our Researchers’ Day Meeting on 7 May, and the topics we would particularly value input into are:

  • Energy crop production
  • Agricultural and forest residues
  • Gasification
  • Syngas upgrading to hydrogen
  • Ionic liquid pre-treatments
  • Fermentation
  • Catalysis
  • Biorefineries
  • Bio-chemical production

The closing date for submissions is 30 June 2021.
