Connecting at the Low Carbon Agriculture Show 2024
We were pleased to be exhibiting at this year’s Low Carbon Agriculture Show which was held over two days, attracting a range of businesses, end users, and researchers on low carbon practices, technology and energy solutions for sustainable farming.
It was a fantastic opportunity to share information on the new impact Hub, talking to visitors about our research projects, current outputs, as well as engaging them with our interactive tools: comic, biorefinery book and game, and making new connections.
On day 2, our director Patricia Thornley presented on evidencing sustainability of UK biomass, highlighting the importance of data, transparency, trust and governance in the session chaired by Jeanette Whitaker from UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH). The session covered biomass, biochar and its role in netzero plans and the presentation panel included Neil Watkins of Eco Crops UK, Márton Németh of Silvanus Forestry, and Julian Marris of Carbon Focus Engineering Ltd.
Patricia referenced a paper published by Supergen Bioenergy Hub researchers on the sustainability of bioenergy and mapping the risks & benefits which can be downloaded
Thank you to everyone who came along to find out more about what we do and how we can potentially help with your bioenergy queries and work together.
We were delighted to receive such positive feedback and engagement with our biorefinery book and congratulations to our competition winners for achieving the highest sustainability score and receiving a goody bag! You can play the game and explore all our interactive resources including the comic here in our ‘Explore Bioenergy’ webpage.
