Energy from Waste and Waste to Energy Workshop

EBRI organised a workshop, at Aston on July 20 and 21, on behalf of SUPERGEN Bioenergy on the important current topic of “Energy from Waste and Waste to Energy”. There were 10 speakers from Industry, government and funding agencies over 2 days.

The workshop included break-out sessions to discuss particular issues in more detail such as: Policies, Waste preparation, Extracting value from waste, Conversion technology challenges, Products and upgrades, Environmental impacts and sustainability.

45 people attended the Energy from Waste Workshop in total, from institutions and organisations including Progressive Energy, Veolia, University of Leeds, SUEZ R&R UK, BioFuel Evolution Ltd and many more.

  • Dr Jacqueline Homan – Energy from Waste: local and regional opportunities – JH Green Consulting
  • SUEZ Thermal Treatment Technologies – SUEZ R&R UK

The event equipped attendees with knowledge of waste management, policy challenges, updates, pyrolysis studies, energy recovery methods, local and regional opportunities and more. We hope that this workshop will provide opportunities for collaborations in this increasingly important area.
