Reflections on the COP26 journey

As COP26 comes to a close, our Director Patricia Thornley shares her thoughts with us on the United Nations Climate Change Conference:

“COP26 has been an interesting 11 days: high hopes; positive feelings; some welcome announcements on deforestation, methane, coal, international co-operation. But there has been a disconnect between the hot topics of electric vehicles and hydrogen and the reality of our very urgent need to reduce carbon emissions from heat and support low- and middle-income countries in adaptation and mitigation. I hope the final text makes good on those challenges.”
