The appointment will be on UCL Grade . The salary range will be Grade 7: £33,353 – £40,313 per annum, Grade 8: £41,430 – £48,873 per annum, inclusive of London Allowance.
The UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources aims to generate knowledge to promote the globally sustainable use of natural resources. The successful candidate will be the lead UCL researcher on the Bioenergy Value Chains project. They will extend the TIAM-UCL global energy systems model to include land use, including LULUCF emissions, for the first time, and will use this and other models to estimate the potential size of the international bioenergy trade in the future for a range of scenarios.
The appointment is for two years in the first instance. Further funding to support the post may be available.
The successful candidate will have a postgraduate degree in economics, policy analysis, engineering, operations research, mathematics or energy related quantitative field, and a PhD, preferably with a specialism in quantitative analysis. They will have a strong interest in bioenergy issues in particular and interdisciplinary research more generally. They will be able to conduct and publish high quality research, demonstrated through the successful completion of research projects or a dissertation.
