SUPERGEN Researchers Meeting

11th and 12th of May

University of Glasgow

Engineering and scientific research aims to increase our knowledge and understanding of the world and systems around us. However, increasingly, researchers are also being asked to deliver impact from this new knowledge.  So this year the SUPERGEN Bioenergy hub’s researchers’ meeting will, of course, allow you to meet up with researchers from a variety of disciplines and institutes but will also provide you with an opportunity to learn more about impact and empower you to deliver it.

This training session will:

  • Explain what impact actually is
  • Help you understand what impact your own research could deliver
  • Support you in developing a plan to maximize that impact
  • Allow you to engage with industrialists and policy stakeholders to support impact delivery

The session will be led by Prof. Patricia Thornley, director of the SUPERGEN Bioenergy hub, who has a background in industry and academia working at the interface of research, industry and policy.  Patricia works with over 30 external organisations and has completed 7 knowledge transfer and impact acceleration awards in bioenergy in the last 5 years. There will be an opportunity to meet the members of the Supergen Bioenergy Hub advisory board and get feedback from them on the best pathways and connections to maximize the impact of your research work, helping raise its visibility and your profile in the sector and in your institution.
