UK-India Bioenergy Online Workshop

Help Define International Research Priorities for Bioenergy

An Online Workshop will be held on Monday 14 February 2022 (led by Professor Patricia Thornley, Director of the Supergen Bioenergy Hub and, the Energy and Bioproducts Research Institute ) bringing together a range of key international stakeholders from across academia, policy and industry to scope out the potential for collaborative bioenergy research between the UK and India.

The format of the workshop will be presentations followed by topic group discussions on key areas including fermentation, anaerobic digestion, rice, biorefineries, waste and more. Participants will have the opportunity to share their areas of interest and expertise in the field of bioenergy in the UK/India, and be part of an interactive set of events and activities being delivered over the next two months.

The aim is to identify mutually beneficial areas of collaboration where India and the UK can work in synergy around bioenergy, waste and bioproduct technologies. This builds upon COP 26 discussions around net zero and the clean energy transition, along with the 2030 roadmap for India-UK relations, which identifies climate as a key pillar.

We hope you can join us and be part of this new collaborative bioenergy work.
