Webinar on temporal and accounting aspects of greenhouse gas emissions

Wednesday 3 June, 12-1.30pm BST, online

The Supergen Bioenergy Hub has recently published two briefing papers on different aspects of measuring greenhouse gas emissions: Greenhouse gas emissions – timing matters! and Accounting whole life cycle bioenergy emissions within the UNFCCC emission accounting framework.

This webinar will introduce key findings highlighted in these papers, along with the industry perspective on prominent issues in this area, through the following presentations:

  • The effect of timing on impacts of greenhouse gas emissions, Sam Cooper, University of Bath
  • Accounting whole life cycle bioenergy emissions, Andrew Welfle, University of Manchester
  • Temporal aspects of forest carbon, Michael Goldsworthy, Drax
  • Overview of sustainability principles and criteria for the RSB Standard, Nicola Noponen, Roundtable on Sustainable Biomaterials

The presentations will be followed by a panel discussion and Q&A moderated by Marcelle McManus from the University of Bath and Mirjam Röder from Aston University.

Please register for this event via Eventbrite. This will also give you the opportunity to submit your questions to the panel.
